Release 9 · Queued
2.0 Onboarding Flow
The front door for the 2.0 launch. Feature tour, permission prompts, invite flow, App Store refresh.
Summary
Polished first-run experience for the WanderPins 2.0 launch. This is the front door for new users arriving via marketing, word of mouth, and deep links. A strong onboarding flow maximizes the 2.0 traffic that actually converts into active users.
What's in scope
- First-run onboarding — feature tour, permission prompts (location, notifications, camera), map intro
- Invite flow — share WanderPins with friends from within the app
- Deep link follow improvements (if not shipped earlier in Web Refresh)
- App Store screenshot refresh — new marketing screenshots reflecting 2.0 features
- 2.0 release marketing — website update, social launch
Open questions
- Auth method — stay phone/OTP, or add email/social logins? Current: phone/OTP via Supabase. Phone has high trust (SMS verification) but friction. Email or Apple Sign-In reduces friction. Decide in PRD.
- Onboarding screens — how many? What do they cover? Paper designs needed.
- Invite flow UX — share sheet, in-app referral codes, QR codes, or all three?
- App Store listing — new hero video/screenshot story? Subscription-language updates if Pro has shipped by then.
